To the entire Crittendon Family,
I was more than saddened by the passing of Alphonso (Brother, as you and I called him all those many years ago.) It has been many years since we had seen each other, but he had sent me a message to call him via a friend only a week prior to his passing. I deeply regret not having the opportunity to reconnect with him. I remember so many good times with him, and you, when we were back in High School together. You may not remember now as I do, band camp at Shenandoah, the trips to the lake, and the cookouts, etc. May the Lord be with you and provide you comfort during this time and in the days and years to come.

I have fond memories of Alphonso during our days at John Marshall High School. He will be missed. May God continue to afford you strength and comfort during this dificult time. God Bless!

To Our Friends Denise, Shantae and Kiana,
I cannot tell you how shocked and saddened by Al's homegoing. We know his work here on earth has ended and God has called him home. And what wonderful work he has done! He has left us with many fond memories. When we think of Al we think of hardworking, determined, giving, loyal, easygoing, and funloving. Never finding it hard to smile or laugh. One thing that stands out in my mind is in one of our "deep" conversations, he told me how much he loved Denise, Shantae and Kiana.
Please know you can call on us anytime and that you are in our prayers.

Words cannot express the shock and the saddness we both felt when we received the news of Pastor Al's homegoing. Then God replaced it with joy in hearts that another servant has made it home; for to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. To the Family, may the Angels continue to cover you and give you the strength to continue Pastor Al's wonderful legacy. Be blessed!

This truly is a lost of the body on Christ in the earth. We will miss our friend and brother. However, the foundation has been laid through Brother Al, and many lives will continue to be "resurrected to new life" as a result of the legacy left. Rest assured that he continues to live in the works he's done, as they speak for him.
Shalom!

To the Crittendon Family: I had the priviliege of sharing with the New Life Family on many occasions and Elder Crittendon was such a blessing. His ministry is such a powerful minsitry that is going to continue for many years to come. He brought light to my eyes and allowed me to see things that I normally wouldn't have seen. May God bless his family and his church during this time of need. I know that you are all strong believers in his word and you already know that God's got it all in control. May God bless and keep as I will be praying God's favor over your lives.

Bro was a worshiper! God had a plan for Crittendon life and it includes everything we’re facing today. Not a detail of Crittendon life has been left out. The Father planned to use it all for His good. Yes, separation is painful, but as Christians we do not grieve as those who have no hope.
We need not ponder death with fear,
Through what’s ahead we cannot see;
For we who put our faith in Christ
Look forward to eternity.
Death separates us for a time;
Christ will reunite us forever
Rather, we can rejoice, even with tear-filled eyes, because Brother Crittendon our loved one has taken up a new residence in heaven.
The death of people whom we love
Brings sorrow and deep pain;
But if our loved ones know the Lord,
Our loss becomes their gain.
When Christians die, they have just begun to live. Whenever believers in Christ die, it would be appropriate for us to say to them (if we could).
“Congratulations Bro Crittendon on your new location”
Bro had the confidence, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. 2 Corinthians 5: 8
May these words encourage and comfort the family and ignite us to live a life for Christ as Bro.

To: the family of Alphonso R. Crittendon:
May God Comfort your family at this great time of lost. I knew Mr. Crittendon from work (at the Beaumont Juvenile Corrections Center), and from the weight room at the YMCA. He was God fearing man and always made an effort to help others along the way. He was a true shepherd of the flock, and will be greatly missed by all those who knew him. Rest in peace my brother, until we meet again before the Ancient of Days, on that bright and beautiful day call Paradise.
