Dear Sister Shunn,
I was saddened to read Don's Obituary at Granny Annies Cafe this morning. I was sorry I had not taken the opportunity to visit with Don and you since last fall and that I missed his memorial service. I found Don to be one of those rare persons who combine unique inteligence and true humility in one personality. I had the opportunity to serve in the National Guard with him for a number of years. Associating and serving with him was a highlight of that service. We spent many hours contimplating things simple and complex. He always demonstrated the highest of standards. He enriched my life and I want to express my most sincere condolences to you and your fine family. I pray for your close companionship with the Comforter and the blessings of our loving Heavenly Father. Best Wishes, Rich Harvey

Ann and Family,
May you and your good family find peace in all the many memories of your good husband, father and friend.
I always appreciated Don's teasing conversation each time I called to talk to you Ann. He loved you and his family.

My wife Elva served under Elder Shunn when he served as zone leader of the ODM (Ordinance Data Management Group) of the Family History Library in the Joseph Smith Memorial Bldg. She has so many good things to say about him, we'll put it in a letter. I also loved to talk with Elder Shunn and his wonderful wife Ann when I occasionally stopped in to visit, help myself to the treats, and have lunch with Elder Shunn and his missionaries. Uncle Don - There are no words to express the gratitude I have for how you and Auntie Ann were there when I needed you most. Thank you for the things I know about and the things I don't. Give my parents a huge hug for me. I love you and will miss you.
