Cynthia Ernestine Pargman

Cynthia Ernestine Pargman, a former resident of Topeka, KS, passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2008 at the Golden Living Center in Wakefield, KS at the age of 68. Cynthia was born May 7, 1940 in Topeka, KS to Jack and Velma Ernestine Sechrist Rice, Sr. She attended grade school in Topeka, and graduated from Topeka High School in 1958. She was married to Harold Frederick Pargman on December 29, 1959 at the Oakland united Methodist Church in Topeka, KS. She was employed as a key punch operator for the Santa Fe Railroad until her retirement in 1989. She had been a resident at the Wakefield Rehabilitation Center since October 9, 2008. She was a member of the Oakland Rebekah Lodge #616, Restless Wheels Camping Club, Mustang Camping Club, all in Topeka, KS. She is survived by her husband Harold F. Pargman of their home in Topeka, KS; one son Allan Pargman and his wife Sabina of Phoenix, AZ; two daughters: Jill Schmutz and her husband Gary of Wakefield, KS, Patricia Wallen and her husband Rick of Springfield, MO, two grandchildren, and her mother Velma Rice of Topeka, KS. She was preceded in death by her father Jack Rice, Sr., and her brother Jack Rice, Jr. A memorial service will be held at the Alida-Upland Cooperative Parish, northeast of Chapman, KS on Monday, November 10, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Reverend Ross Olson will officiate. The family will have a private burial of the ashes at the Alida Zion Evangelical Cemetery. The Londeen Funeral Chapel in Chapman, KS is in charge of the arrangements.
