Went to visit your grave site today. They are replacing the grass in your area. I wiped the dried dirt off of your headstone to make it look cleaner since we had rain recently. I think about you and your family often. Thank you for your sacrifice to our country.

I am a senior in high school in a government class. My assignment was to search for a fallen hero and reach out to his or her family. This might not mean much, but I just wanted to say thank you for your service, Jason. Because of this, not only me, but countless others are able to enjoy our freedom. You will never be forgotten! Prayers to Jason's family.

Thanks again,

Jason,

Its hard to believe it will be ten years tomorrow that you have been gone! I remember a day or two after I heard the news, I was really distraught. I had gone up to my room to take a shower and had locked my door to keep my almost 3yr old daughter from disturbing me. I had sat down at the side of my bed crying and I glanced at the single earring on my nightstand. It was my favorite pair but one of the earrings had gone missing several months before. At my feet was a daisy my daughter had picked for me so I picked it up and put it on the nightstand next to my earring. I got in the shower and the whole time I was crying and thinking how sad I was that you had passed. How young you were and how much life you should have had to live. How grateful I was to you for serving our country and paying the ultimate sacrifice for it. I then thought to myself "I wonder if you can even hear me." I got out of the shower dried off and went back and sat down on the side of my bed. I looked down at my feet and my earring was on the floor so I picked it up to put it back on the nightstand but my earring was still there! One was on the nightstand and it's missing match was in my hand!!! How could that be? It wasn't there before because I had picked up the daisy from the same spot and the door to my room was locked so no one could have come in! I knew then that it was a sign from your spirit telling me that "Yes, I'm still with you and I can hear you." So I say to you right now because I know you can hear me "Thank you so much for your sacrifice to our country. It and you will NEVER be forgotten!

I don’t even know where to begin. It is now officially 8 years since you left, and I miss you so much. I have cried all day. This 8th anniversary has by far been one of the harder ones. I wish I knew why but maybe it’s because your niece is older now and asks so many more specific questions or it’s because I have never forgotten or been able to heal. I actually never thought I would I guess I just thought it would get a little easier; not harder. I tell her so many stories about you and show her pictures. She always tells me she misses you and loves you. She also says “Its not fair I didn’t get to see Uncle Ja”. I tell her to look at your picture and never forget, and I tell her how great of an uncle you would be. She always says “I know mom” and gives me hugs. I love you so much Ja and I couldn’t miss you anymore. I wish it didn’t hurt so bad…….

”Honor and Remember” - “Project Compassion” We love our Soldiers! We love our country and we cannot express enough love and compassion to the families of our fallen heroes. War does not discriminate – It breaks our hearts to see the faces of the fallen. We want to give this gift to the hero’s Mother, Father and/or spouse. We are a 501c3 nonprofit organization! Almost 2,000 portraits have been completed and shipped to the parents and or spouse - at no cost as this is a gift from one American to another!
This is a gift! We have wonderful sponsors who help with the costs, and want you know that everyone here at Project Compassion does and will always CARE.
Contact us directly at [email protected] or go to www.heropaintings.com . If you have already had a portrait completed, we pray that you are enjoying the portrait and God Bless You.

To Jason's family. On this Memorial Day, 2009, we just want to say you and Jason are in our thoughts. A blessing that I sent to Jason while he was in Iraq....
May the road rise to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm across your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hands.

Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.

The Wind on The Downs

“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”

(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )

Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….

“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”

I did not know Jason, but I am remembering
his service. He is my hero. !

The Other Side

i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.

can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.

i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side

the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

To the Moore family,

May you hold Jasons' memory in your heart and please remember he shall never be forgotten.

For you every single soldier
Those who served so honorable
Your life was forever altered
While I’m home safe and free
I stand with grateful admiration
I stand respectful and so proud
I know I’m only a civilian
And I don’t even know if it’s allowed.

But I salute you; allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
Even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
My humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.

thank you to all who have thought about, and cared enough to write entries into this book;thank you to all who have loved, missed and most of all honored Jason. I was so afraid that with Jason Passing on at such a young age(at the prime of his life) he would soon be forgotten as people and thier lives moved on. I know that Jason is still in the hearts of many and could never be forgotten.strangers and friends write to him or about him,; and then I realize that there are no strangers out there as I read so many wonderful entries and messages of love and loss for our dear Jason. He saw no strangers -only friends and he would have loved you in return because that is who Jason really is -a caring ,loving spirit through his life and through death. I know that missing him is hard but I also know that he'll love you FOREVER!! and as we are extremely proud of him; he is also of you and always will be!!! I miss you son so very much

love forever mom

All the tears I shed will never drown the sorrow and the pain that losing you has brought into my life...be at peace my angel... I know you are near.

August 9, 2007

Not a day goes by that I don't think of you. When I walk by someone that kind of looks like you my heart jumps, then sinks when I realize it's not you. To this day I still pick up the phone wanting to call you. I am always wondering where you'd be in life if you were still here. Would you be proud of me? I miss you more than you could ever know.

August 4, 2007

I don't pretend to know what to say or do that would bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.

Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.

I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON (KIA on 07/06/07) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

I wish I had a camera to capture the moment when you had my 1 year old son by the hand, walking up the hill by your house in San Marcos in your flight suit and hat. My son looked over at me with a big smile, he was so proud and honored to be walking with you. I will never forget that moment along with they day the officer answered the door when I knocked. My heart sank knowing that the world lost someone so special who gave so much happiness to so many people. You were definately one of a kind and we will never forget you.
