Catherine Tom

TOM – Catherine,  Hyattsville, Md., died April 10, 2009, at Washington Adventist Hospital, Takoma Park, Md. Born in Spangler, daughter of Charles and Etheldreda (Yeckley) Maus.  Preceded in death by infant sister, Mary Ann, and sister, Janet Stemple.  Survived by parents, Mineral Point; husband, Jonathan Tom, Hyattsville, Md., whom she married Oct. 16, 1976;  children, Jennifer Marie, wife of Steven St. Marie, Albany, Minn.; Joseph, married to Sueanne (Luc), Alexandria, Va.; and Gregory Tom, Johnstown; grandchildren, Vincent, Dominic and Gabriel St. Marie; and brothers and sisters, James Maus, Little Meadows; Doris, wife of Dennis Niebauer, Johnstown; Edward, married to Suzan (Garrett), Johnstown; Joseph, married to Monica (Lang), Altoona; Lois, wife of Jeffrey Dravis, Johnstown; and Dennis Maus, Duquesne. Also survived by mother-in-law, Grace Tom, Cornwall. Catherine was formerly employed by the Federal Aviation Administration in Washington, D.C. Cathy was an active volunteer with St. Mark Elementary School Library and Sacred Heart Nursing Home.  She enjoyed spending time with Jesus at St. Mark's Adoration Chapel.  Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Charles O. Dimond Funeral Home Inc., South Fork, where vigil for the deceased will be held Tuesday afternoon. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Mundys Corner, Father Paul Robine officiating.  Committal, St. Michael Cemetery, St. Michael. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in Catherine's name. We will miss you, Cathy, "Rest in Peace."
