Dorothy Deschamps Lansdale

Dorothy Deschamps Lansdale, age 84, of Milford, formerly of Sarasota, Fla., entered into eternal rest on Monday, May 4, 2009, with her loving family by her side.

Born in Milford, Mass., on May 10, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Clinton and Lois Phillips. She was predeceased by Dr. Stephen H. Deschamps and Dr. H. Parker Lansdale. Dorothy graduated from the Roosevelt School of Nursing in 1945. She was an extraordinarily devoted and caring nurse, and was director of nursing at 3030 Park, Bridgeport. She was also nursing supervisor at Southern Connecticut Dialysis Center in Bridgeport. Dorothy was a longtime volunteer at the Bridgeport Chapter of the American Red Cross.

She will be deeply missed by her family, son Thomas Deschamps and wife, Joyce, of Vernon, and their children Daniel and Laura; a daughter Margaret Deschamps Sticklen and her husband, John, of Michigan, and their daughter Mitra; a son, Dr. Brian Deschamps and his wife, Mary Ellen, of Vernon, and their daughters Danielle and Gabrielle; and her devoted daughter Patricia Deschamps of Stratford. She is also survived by a son Kirk Lansdale and his wife, Virginia, of Denver, Colo., and a son Todd Lansdale and his wife, Cynthia, of Fairfield, and their daughters Krista and Tara.

Friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Thursday, May 7, 2009, at 11 a.m. at The Church of the Good Shepherd, 186 Corum Ave., Shelton, CT.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations may be made to Bridgeport Hospital Foundation, 267 Grand St., Bridgeport, CT 06610 in memory of Dorothy.
