Brandon,
We are coming upon another year of your passing andd i can still remember how hard it hit us. I remember being on route security and getting the "rally" call from our LT saying to meet him by one of the bridges, we all met and then he told us what happened. We were in shock but knew we had to "Charlie Mike" (continue mission).I knew our jobs as Gunners was dangerous but it didnt really hit home til that minute.
I sit here almost 8 years later, higher in rank and with more responsibility knowing that it is only a matter of time before we go back to "the box" and now I am the one who is responsible for a squad of people and it weighs heavy on my mind everyday. I tell my soldiers your story all the time, not only so they know the real dangers of THE JOB but also so they know who our hero is. I can count on one hand how many times i have taken your rememberance bracelet off, people ask why i dont take it off at airports and stuff and simply put, because i cant. you gave all and its the least i can do.

dont know why but for some reason you were in my head all day today. We miss ya brother, the world is a lesser place because you arent in it. watch over the 9 on our next deployment.

”Honor and Remember” - “Project Compassion” We love our Soldiers! We love our country and we cannot express enough love and compassion to the families of our fallen heroes. War does not discriminate – It breaks our hearts to see the faces of the fallen. We want to give this gift to the hero’s Mother, Father and/or spouse. We are a 501c3 nonprofit organization! Almost 2,000 portraits have been completed and shipped to the parents and or spouse - at no cost as this is a gift from one American to another!
This is a gift! We have some wonderful sponsors who help with the costs, and only want you know that we care.
Contact us directly at [email protected] or go to www.heropaintings.com . If you have already had a portrait completed, we pray that you are enjoying the portrait and God Bless You.

I remember Brandon, while I was in Iraq. He was good company in a place that we could only look forward from. I remember the day priorto his passing. He was having a good day and he seemed in high spirits and gathered with a small group of mixed military companies and gathered as friends do.

Dear family of Pfc. Brandon Ramsey,

We want to say thank you. We understand that no words can be adequate for your sorrow. We certainly do not want to intrude upon your privacy. As Americans we want you to know that we deeply appreciate the ultimate sacrifice your loved one has made for all of us. We also would like for you to be aware that with this letter comes our special concern and prayers for you. We are all safer because young men and women who love their country, and know the value of a free nation, are willing to put themselves in harms way, and lay down their lives to keep this nation free and safe for all of us.
Your sacrifice is also very great. We know that we can give little comfort; however, the knowledge that your loved one did not die in vain, but died in the service of our country, gives each of us a noble example of the value of life, and the responsibility of freedom. We hope this will bring pride and comfort to you.
We at Gethsemane Church believe that there is purpose to life. We send this letter with our deepest appreciation for the greatest of sacrifices, you and your loved one have given to this country. We know it is not enough, but please allow us to assure you that your loved one is not forgotten.

Very Sincerely

Frank G. Noyes

Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.

The Wind on The Downs

“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”

(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )

Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….

“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”

I did not know Brandon, but I am remembering
his service. He is my hero. !

The Other Side

i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.

can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.

i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side

the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

I would just like to say that I have just now learned of the loss of Pfc. Brandon Ramsey and I am very upset about hearing what happened to him. My heart and soul goes out to his entire family! Me and Brandon went through Basic Training together at Ft. Leonard Wood. Actually just seeing his official DoD Army pic on the right makes me smile, but also makes me greive being that I remember we were just talking about stupid stuff and killing time waiting in line to take our picture. Again my heart goes out to the entire Ramsey family...R.I.P.!

I remember in 1991 that America was on their knees in prayer in behalf of the American soldier until their soldier came home. Some of us are still waiting to see our soldier come home. We can only go to them now and one day we will. You will never be just another name on the wall. God Bless America.

May 31, 2005

Just another name to add to the list, another number to add to the counter, and one more flag to give to a family. Many times we do not notice how much each name on that list or that number off that counter means to someone out there. All those who survive cancer, may dad is just another number-but i care about that one number. All those who came home from the war, my friend Matt-i care about that number. Before today the only number i cared about that didn't come home from the war was my cousin, now my cousin and Pfc. Brandon Ramsey are not just a number to me-i care about those two numbers. Many people care about different numbers and names, Pfc. Brandon Ramsey has been added to my list of numbers to care about.

From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for the tremendous sacrifice you have made for our country and the cause of freedom. This Memorial Day, we join with you in celebrating the life of Pfc. Ramsey, and join in the prayers of many who ask God to grant you His grace and peace as you grieve your great loss. Our brave men and women in uniform may not consider themselves heroes, but they are. They are the best of the best, and their courage gives us hope that America can once again be as noble and great as her past. May we be inspired by their bravery and willingness to serve in such a way as to make a real difference in the world around us. May we always remember… and never forget. God bless you!

Private, I know you are watching and guarding your family from above...as soldiers always stand their posts. I thank your family for giving us such a testament...you will not be forgotten. Your family will never know those who name their children for the fallen whom they see and read about in the papers. They will never see the young man, whom even though he sees the tears of your family...sees shining through more strongly the pride they have in you. They want their mothers and fathers to be proud of them...and they want to give back.

God Bless your family for all its continued sacrifices...you are in my prayers.

I would like to send my condolences and prayer out to Brandon's family. Brandon was a wondeful person and a pleasure to be around. I met Brandon my freshman year at T. F. North and I remained friends with him up until Senior year. I want the family to know that I am sending them my deepest sympathy. I would like to encourage them and myself to remember that Brandon is off in a better place now. Away from harm, and that God is watching over him at all times. This is very difficult for me and I know that is is very difficult for anyone who knew Brandon. Even if you met him once, you would know that he was a good person.
