BAXTER CHAPEL-Myrtle Ward Ramsey, aged 98, of Cookeville, TN, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, February 14, 2026. Born on September 17, 1927, in Putnam County, TN.
Myrtle spent much of her career working at the Cookeville Shirt Factory and Martin Shirt Co. in Cookeville, where she contributed her skills and hard work. Beyond her professional life, she had many hobbies and interests including, sewing, quilting, gardening, making dolls, reading, and crocheting. Her creativity and care were evident in all her projects, a reflection of her character and compassion. She was a dedicated member of Herren's Chapel Church of Christ.
Myrtle is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Darius and Mary Ramsey of Cookeville; her grandchildren, Lora (David) Cowan and Erin (Daniel) Nash, also of Cookeville; Brian Rosasco, Jeff Rosasco, Chris Rosasco and their families; and her great-grandchildren, Hannah Cowan, Allie Nash, Lily Nash and Haley Nash.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther Ernest and Zona Alice Mitchell Ward; her husband, Othel G. Ramsey, who passed away on August 16, 1984; her daughter, Joan Rosasco; her brother, Otis "Bud" Ward; and her sisters, Nell Marie Flatt, Ruby Ramsey, and Zella Belsher.
Visitation for Myrtle Ramsey will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM at Baxter Chapel, located at 532 4th Street, Baxter, TN 38544. Bro. Chris Ramsey will officiate. Burial will follow in Cooke Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Nash, Perry Nash, Jordan Dill, Jimmy Maxwell, Jimmy John Maxwell and Jonathan Lofits.
