Henry Curtis "Curt" Albertson October 27, 1928 - October 2, 2009 Curt Albertson, 80 of Tucson, Arizona lost his courageous battle with cancer, Friday, October 2, 2009. Curt was born October 27, 1928 to Henry C. and Amelia Albertson in Hays, Kansas. He grew up on a 'homestead' farm near Hill City, Kansas. His first eight years of school were a in one room country school. Quite a beginning for the dedicated teacher he would become. Curt graduated in 1955, from Ft. Hays State College with a B.S. in Education followed by a M.S. in Education from the University of Kansas in 1959. On July 3, 1955, he married Janet Griffith in Hill City, Kansas. In 1961, they made Tucson their home. Curt taught Social Studies at Rincon High School. Curt was the Social Studies Department Chair for his last 12 years, retiring in 1988. He was known by his family and friends as a kind, reliable, generous and loving man. He will be truly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by Janet Albertson, his wife of 54 years; children, Bruce Ryan Albertson of Tucson, AZ.; Laura Kaye Schenkelberg of Morgan Hill, CA.; Brent Evan Albertson (Ana) of Landstuhl, Germany; grandchildren, Casey, Mitchell and Mica Schenkelberg, Brian Henry Albertson, Ana Maria Albertson; sister, Carol Trexler of Hill City, KS. A Memorial Service will be held in his honor on Friday, October 9, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel, with a reception to follow.
