Joyce was my cousin and though we had not seen each other for many years, I thought about her frequently. I remember a time many years ago as a child I pulled a childish prank on her one time when they were visiting. I have never forgotten the incident. Joyce is now with our heavenly Father. Being in the presence of the King gives her a great advantage over the rest of us. One day we will join her and my sister Wendy. Uncle Walter and Aunt Barbara, and all the family, I love you and my prayers are with you. I rejoice and I grieve with you.

Joyce was one of the most caring, loving women I have ever met. (But you know that better than any of us.) She was always the light that lit up a room with her sweet smile. I was truly blessed to have gotten a chance to work with her. She loved you all and would tell me what a wonderful family she had. We don't always understand why she had to suffer for so long but I also know she trusted & loved the Lord. She was a great example of having faith during times of trial. I do know she is in Heaven with our Lord and Savior and we will see her again one day.

You are in my thoughts and prayers and have been for the last several years. Joyce is one of God's choicest daughters. I and my family were so blessed to have her in our lives. May you feel the love and comfort that only He can provide. Joyce will always shine as a truly Christlike person in my life and acquaintance.

Larry, David, and Preston, I am so sorry for your loss but also rejoice with you that she is no longer suffering and is in the presence of Christ Jesus, Savior, Healer, King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Not to mention the fact that she is now singing with the angels - the ultimate choir in which to sing. Joyce/Mrs. Teeples was my choir teacher during my senior year in '92 and spent extra time with me after class to help me prepare me for the State competition, of which, I got the highest mark. Thanks to her leadership. I sang, "Bless This House." My prayer for you are the lyrics of that song in this time of sorrow. "Bless this house, oh Lord we pray, make it safe by night and day; Bless these walls so firm and stout keeping want and weary out. . ." She, myself and another student made the big road trip to OU and I remember that fun time. She also literally carried us through the vocal parts of the musical, "Carousel," in 1991. Again, she worked past rehearsal time and again with myself and another student to get everything as perfect as possible. She never complained, but always laughed, smiled and loved freely. She was a true blessing and I appreciate all she ever did for me and I know she was this way with each of her students.

Love and Prayers,
Gina Taylor-Davis

Mrs. Teeples was not only my Vocal mentor and teacher, but also a friend while I attended Fort Gibson High. She always had a smile, an encouraging word, a pat on the back and a hug to give. She was a true reflection of the love of Christ. I know my high school years were endured much easier because she was there to talk to. She certainly has earned her place in the Heavenly chorus. My each of us remember her for her love and reflection of Christ. My prayers are with the family during Mrs. Teeples home-going. May you rest in the fact that one day you will be reunited and her spirit will remain with you always.

Peace be with you,

Joyce reflected the Love of the Lord as she walked the halls at school. Her radiant smile, encouraging words, and tender touch brought strength to the weak and courage to the timid. She saw each student as a unique individual with a God given gift. With great care she helped mold and shape each student into an individual willing to sing for joy. Truly, Joyce was a heaven-sent blessing to those she met on a daily basis. The seeds of love she planted will continue to bear MUCH FRUIT! I'm so blessed to have had the opportunity to call her friend.

How well her parents named her, "JOYce". She brought joy to the school and all around her. As Ross once said, "She's about the nicest person I ever met." Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us everyday, unseen, unheard, but always near, still loved, still missed and very dear. I am praying you. Love you Pete!

Joyce was an inspirational teacher of vocal music and loving mother. I strongly feel that her battle with cancer shows us how inspirational she was as a Christian. Relying on God’s strength and providence, Joyce has shown me how to radiate God’s love even in the direst circumstances. God's peace be with you Larry, David, and Preston.

Larry, David, and Preston, My heart goes out to you in the loss of your wife and mother. Joyce was such a wonderful person who left her beautiful footprints on all those she came in contact with, both young and old. I enjoyed my years of teaching with her and also the years she taught my son. He had nothing but wonderful things to say as he related his time in her classes. She will be greatly missed by not only you, but so many others. We know that she is where she will suffer no more pain or suffering. That doesn't make us miss her less, but does comfort us that she's where she can sing praises on high! May God give you comfort as you continue to live without her by your side.

Joyce was beautiful, inside and out. She was the perfect example of 1 Peter 3: 'from her inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, of great worth in God's sight.' Her smile was contagious. She inspired her students to achieve their highest potential. I loved working with her in the Fort Gibson Vocal Music Department and attending church with her. She adored her family and always put their needs above her own. She was a strong Christian witness, even to the end of her struggle with cancer, always giving God glory. My prayers are with Larry, David, and Preston. God bless you. We are all blessed to have had Joyce in our lives. I will truly miss her.

My prayers and condolences go out to the Teeple's family. She taught me to sing...she showed me a good Christian example, and even though I haven't seen or talked to her in years, she was always there, it the back of my head, anytime I would sing or think of music. There aren't enough pages in all the world to tell what a great person she was, and I'll miss her! She was a friend, an inspiration, someone to look up to. She was always smiling...
