Henry Arpin Obituary

Henry J. Arpin, Jr. June 5, 1948 - June 18, 2010 Norwich - Henry J. Arpin, Jr., 62, of Norwich, died on Friday, June 18, 2010, at Hartford Hospital after a lengthy illness. On June 5, 1948 he was born in Putnam, Connecticut, the son of the late Henry J. and Theresa E. (Gelinas) Arpin. He was married to Betsy Masse on September 17, 1988. Henry worked at Electric Boat in Groton and Plastic Wire and Cable in Jewett City. Currently, he worked as a professional driver for Mystic Limousine Service where he took great pride is his driving and enjoyed meeting people through his work. Henry was a talented athlete and played in various baseball and softball leagues in the Norwich area. As he grew older he became an avid golfer and for the past 15 years was a member of Pautipaug Country Club. In addition to his wife Betsy, he is survived by two brothers, Ronnie Arpin of West Haven and Gary Arpin of Moosup; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and is also survived, through marriage, by two children, Jeffrey Alexander of Philadelphia and Beth Hanlon of Norwich; and three grandchildren. A calling hour will be held on Tuesday June 22, from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Woyasz & Son Funeral Home, 141 Central Avenue Norwich, with a memorial service celebrating Henry's life at 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the National Kidney Foundation, Connecticut Regional Office, 2139 Silas Deane Hwy Ste 208, Rocky Hill, CT 06067-2339.
