I was so sorry to hear of Hazel's passing. You might not remember me but I can still recall the times my folks and I went over to Hazel and Glenn's for supper and they played cards. Now they are all together in a better place. Thoughts and prayers at this time. Lisa (Jenkins) Hartman

Pat & Jo Jo had completed the arrangements for Aunt Hazel's 105 birthday celebration party but will not get to celebrate this time. Up until about a week ago, Aunt Hazel's mind was still mentally sharp and her memory good, although she was getting weak, losing her eyesight and losing weight.
The "Celebrate Life service" was a packed house. (She had requested no one wear "black" & the ladies could wear "red" her favorite color). Those attending were from every level & sector of society. What a wonderful, positive influence she has been!
Aunt Hazel was a genuine follower of Jesus Christ. She was also a gifted and ardent "Teacher" till the end.
Aunt Hazel, you were a wonderful friend to me! I always enjoyed playing my guitar with you when you played the piano. Aunt Hazel, you are sorely missed.

Aunt Hazel was a very special person and very
unique. I was happy when we moved back to Texas and were close enough to go see her in Wichita,KS. She loved having a good time and
playing the piano and always had Ken play his guitar whenever she played and we were there.
She also loved the color red and said I made an excellent choice when my new RAV4 was "Barcelona Red". She was always one of us kids when we were growing up in South Texas.
When her mother sent us out to pick strawberries for her, Aunt Hazel was right there with us instead of visiting with all the adults. She said we kids always had much more fun than the adults. She was always looking for ways to have a good time. She always had lots of good stories to tell us and they were all true events from her life.
She was a very remarkable woman and we will
miss her very much. She was indeed a very
"Great Aunt" in every way!!

Hazel was one of a kind. She loved to talk, she loved music, and she loved her memories. Hazel was a fighter who came back many times from serious illnesses. She was a breast cancer survivor from a time when the survival rate was much lower than it is today. She was an excellent investor who read the Wall Street Journal daily until she was over 100 and lost most of her vision. She was one of the most memorable people I have ever known.

I will always remember my "Great Aunt Hazel" for giving me a left handed china pitcher because I am left handed. :)

She indeed was a "Great" Aunt - one of the first spunky women I knew. I'll always think of her driving to the Valley with Glenn's hat in the rear window and visiting with her at her Edinburg home. Barbara

I was privileged to serve as a volunteer with Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, and stayed often with Hazel. I will miss her very much, as I considered her to be a very remarkable woman, with memory and talents extending up until her death. My condolences and prayers go out to her niece Pat, to Juanita and to all who meant so much to her.
