Penny SHUPE Obituary

MENDON, Ill. -- Penny Jo Shupe, 67, of Lewistown, Mo., formerly of Mendon, went home to be with Jesus Tuesday morning (Oct. 19, 2010) in the Country Aire Estates in Lewistown.

Penny was born on Sept. 24, 1943, in Quincy to the late George "Leland" and Dorothea May Seward Shupe.

Penny attended Mendon Grade School and graduated from Unity High School. She enjoyed playing the piano by ear, farm life, and shopping.

Surviving are a brother, Dwight Shupe of Tucson, Ariz.; three sisters, Pamela M. Shupe of Fowler, Leah Dawn Shupe of Maricopa, Ariz., and Brenda Routh of Celeste, Texas; one aunt, Ruby Shupe of Mendon, and 12 nieces and nephews.

SERVICES: 11 a.m. Thursday graveside services will be in Mendon Cemetery, with Bruce Willard officiating.

VISITATION: 9:30-10:30 a.m. Thursday in the Hunter Funeral Home in Mendon. Entombment will be in the Memorial Mausoleum in the Mendon Cemetery.

MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Country Aire Estates, 18540 State Highway 16, Lewistown, MO 63452.

I was sorry to hear about Penny. my mother shared a room with her for a while at Country Aire. I always enjoyed her.
