Victoria Archambeault Obituary

ARCHAMBEAULT
Victoria Hernandez Archambeault, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 after a courageous seven year battle with breast cancer. She was surrounded by her beloved husband and loving daughter. Victoria was the daughter of Juanita and Adan Hernandez and was the last surviving member of the seven member family, which included Adam, Arthur, Dimas and Eva. She was a graduate of Breckenridge High School and was an administrative assistant for over twenty years with civil service, including having worked in a division of nuclear weapons. Victoria's favorite activities included charity work for the elderly and philanthropy to organizations such as the March of Dimes and the American Cancer Society. She was a faithful servant of Christ and member of both St. Paul's Catholic Church and St. Jude's Catholic Church. She was a compassionate, loving and generous woman to all and had a slight rebellious streak to those who knew her well. Victoria is survived by her husband, George Archambeault, daughter, Noël Archambeault, son in law, Daniel Blake Smith, grandson, Dalton Beck Smith and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Closed casket visitation will be open to the public beginning at 2pm on Sunday, December 26th at Castillo Funeral Home with a rosary said en masse that same evening at 7pm. The funeral mass will be at 9am on December 27th at St. Paul's Catholic Church with interment to follow at San Fernando Cemetery #2. Flowers should be sent to Castillo Mission Funeral Home and memorial donations to the American Cancer Society. The family wishes to thank Interim Hospice Care for being compassionate caregivers, especially Adrienne and Joyce. "Let us endeavor to live so that when we come to die, even the undertaker will be sorry." ---Mark Twain

My parents (Carlos and Felicita Rosas) got to know George and Vickie when they were a young couple and lived in the Loma Park neighborhood and were neighbors who sat in each other's yards for many hours, talking and laughing, and sharing good times. My parents thought the world of you George and of your beloved wife. My mom told me last night of a fond memory she has when you and Vickie told them that you were expecting a child and how this was such a wonderful time in your lives. She remembers how happy you both were and how you beamed with pride and excitement. She and my dad were Noel's godparents and although they did not remain close to you three through the years, please know that mom mourns Vickie's passing and wishes George and Noel (and Noel's family) peaceful thoughts to comfort you and eternal peace for Vickie. May your faith and love bring you comfort. Also, my sisters, Sylvia, Dolores, Carla, and I (Veronica) also have fond memories of the four of you laughing and talking and enjoying life. Our thoughts are with you at this difficult time.

Dear Archambeault Family,

What a wonderful woman Vickie was! She and I worked together in the Aircraft Division at Kelly AFB for several years. She was the Big Kahuna in the administrative world there; nothing got past her. I really looked up to her because she was always willing to teach you to do your job better - but she'd do it with a smile!

May the Lord give peace during this difficult time and always keep the memory of her smile close.

Dear Noel and Mr. Archambeault,
my name is Juliet Reyes Rodriguez and I studied voice at UTSA for a few semesters.
I was acquainted with you Noel but you probably don't remember me. My accompanist was Cynthia Garcia.
One afternoon during the annual voice competitions NATS, I was hanging out with you girls, who were several years younger than myself.
During a break we went over to your house Noel and I met your parents. Your mom cooked for us. The hospitality your parents showed me was so wonderful. I remember Cynthia playing the piano while all of us sang along. Nice memory.
Please accept my condolences on the loss of your mother. I lost my beloved mother almost two years ago, so I know what you are going thru.
I could tell that your mom was your biggest fan and that she loved you very much.
From experience I can surely say that the love you shared will sustain you during this time.
You and your father and the rest of your family are in my prayers.

Sincerely,
Juliet Reyes Rodriguez
