Manuel "Mark" Marquez Jr, age 81, of San Antonio, TX, passed away on February 15, 2026, surrounded by loved ones.
Manuel is survived by his wife of 50 years Diem, and his 3 children, Amy, Luke, and Carol as well as many friends who cherished him.
Manuel lived a life marked by humor, strength, resilience, service to his country and a deep love for his family.
Manuel served for four years in the United States Army from 1965 – 1969.
Manuel spent 34 years as a civilian employee at the NSA. Manuel was proud of his service to his country which also afforded him the opportunity to travel around the world.
Manuel found joy in golfing, fishing and he was a proud Texan.
Above all, Manuel was a devoted father, husband, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
Manuel's presence will be deeply missed, but his memory will remain a steady light in the lives of all who loved him.
A service to honor his life will be held at Watershed Church, 9315 Broadway, San Antonio, TX 78217 on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 beginning at 11:00 AM, a Rosary will be recited at 1:00 PM. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Manuel's honor to the Wounded Warrior Project.
