Maxine Peyton Obituary

Mrs. Maxine L. Peyton, 86, of New Market, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011 at her home.

She was born April 12, 1924 and was the daughter of the late Roy (Babe) and Agnes Spitler Weatherholtz.

Mrs. Peyton was a retired poultry worker and a member of the Lord's Chapel near Edinburg.

Her husband, Frank Peyton, died in 1988.

She is survived by her four children, Douglas Baker, Conicville, Wanda Baker, Basye, Doris High and her husband Gary, Broadway and Norma Peyton, New Market; two sisters, Dolly Fewell, Mt. Jackson and Evelyn Jenkins, Winchester, ten grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Peyton was predeceased by a daughter, Goldie Cook and a granddaughter, Jessica Peyton.

The Revs. Glen Turner and Roger Osborne will conduct a funeral service 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Wood's Chapel Independent Bible Church near New Market. Burial will be in Mt. Jackson Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7:30-8:30 p.m. Friday at Theis Funeral Home in New Market.
