Robert P. Emro

Robert P. Emro, a retired SNETCO employee, age 77 of Ridgefield and Eagle Lake, Fla., husband of Sarah H. Emro, died Wednesday, May 11th, in Danbury Hospital. Born in Norwalk, December 5, 1933, son of the late Burton E. and Jane Fitzgerald Emro, he was peace-time veteran of the U. S. Army. Mr. Emro was employed by the Southern New Engalnd Telephone Co. for more than thirty-five years, retiring in 1986. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and a member of the South Norwalk Boat Club since 1958. Survivors in addition to his wife include two sons, William J. Emro and his wife, Donna of Winter Haven, Fla., and Thomas E. Emro and his wife, Tracy of Brookfield; a daughter, Christine Emro, also of Eagle Lake; a brother, Burton T. Emro of Wilton, one sister; Jane M. Emro of Norwalk; five grandchildren, Wayne and Willie, T. J., Brian, and Peter Mallucci. Emro was predeceased by an infant son, Kenneth; and a brother, John. Services will take place Tuesday at 12 Noon, in Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery.
