Robert Emro Obituary

Robert P. Emro, a retired SNETCO employee, age 77 of Ridgefield and Eagle Lake, Fla., husband of Sarah H. Emro, died Wednesday, May 11th, in Danbury Hospital. Born in Norwalk, December 5, 1933, son of the late Burton E. and Jane Fitzgerald Emro, he was peace-time veteran of the U. S. Army. Mr. Emro was employed by the Southern New Engalnd Telephone Co. for more than thirty-five years, retiring in 1986. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and a member of the South Norwalk Boat Club since 1958. Survivors in addition to his wife include two sons, William J. Emro and his wife, Donna of Winter Haven, Fla., and Thomas E. Emro and his wife, Tracy of Brookfield; a daughter, Christine Emro, also of Eagle Lake; a brother, Burton T. Emro of Wilton, one sister; Jane M. Emro of Norwalk; five grandchildren, Wayne and Willie, T. J., Brian, and Peter Mallucci. Emro was predeceased by an infant son, Kenneth; and a brother, John. Services will take place Tuesday at 12 Noon, in Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Avenue. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions are requested to American Cancer Society, Southern New England Region, 38 Richard Avenue, Norwalk, CT 06854-2318. Sally, so sorry to read about Bob. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Hope you are doing OK and glad to read that the kids are close by. We are in Williamsburg, VA..have been for 9 years now and still love it. Love you, Trena & Richard
