JOSEPH DELCOCO Obituary

Joseph Paul DelCoco passed away unexpectedly on May 14, 2011. He was born in Altoona, PA in June 1920. He was a World War II Veteran, having served honorably from 1943 to 1946. He attended Tri State College where he acquired with Honors his Bachelor of Science degree. Then went to Benjamin Franklin University where he received his Masters.

Joe soon started working as an Auditor beginning with the Surgeon General in Washington D.C., and retired from the Department of Transportation, serving 30 years of dedicated service with the government. Joe was always available as a blood donor and was awarded several Red Cross Gold pins.

The last 33 years, he and his wife traveled and cruised extensively world-wide. During those years, he gave freely of his auditing services to the several clubs he belonged. He was a member of the Astronaut Shell Club and was a member of the Holy Names of Jesus Church where a funeral service was held on May 20th.

Joe was a very calm and gentle person with a warming attitude which made him instantly liked by all who met him. He is survived by his wife, Tina of 58 years; a very loving son, Robert; and grandchildren, Joseph and Jennifer; a brother, Anthony of Alexandria, VA; niece, Annie Godlesky of Arizona; and many nieces and nephews mostly living in the Washington, D.C. area (VA and MD).

He was preceded in death by sisters, Nancy Villane , Carmella Longo, Mary Naperkasky and brother, James.

Burial will be held with honors at the Arlington National Cemetery on September 9, 2011.
