GERALDINE BERRE

Geraldine (Gerry) Berre March 30, 1920 ~ May 16, 2012 On May 16th my loving wife went home to be with the Lord. A woman of faith, she was looking forward to meeting her maker in her heavenly home. She was a committed and adoring wife, dearly loved by her husband Henry of 61 years and loved and appreciated by her family as an awesome step-mom-grandmother-great grandmother and dear aunt. Her extended family- Sohee, who was like a daughter to her, husband Taek and their daughter Hannah, loved Gerry like their own mother/grandmother. A loving spiritual mom to many, she and Henry developed many special friends in their church family over the years, all who were very dear to her. Born in Minnesota, Geraldine Wallin and cousin Grace came "out West" in 1947. She met Henry Berre in 1949, at First Baptist Church, San Francisco. On June 25, 1950, they were married in that same church and lived in the city for a short time. Their beloved son Brian was born March 31, 1957 and went home to the Lord at age 28, in 1985. Henry and Gerry bought a home in Pacifica about 1955 and resided there until selling their home in 2005. She was a helpful partner to her husband who ran/owned Sunset Roofing for 30 years. They moved to San Francisco to be close to the church, Glad Tidings Church of San Francisco, where they have been members since the 1960s. For more than 40 years the Berres were actively involved in their church. She is survived by the husband she dearly loved, Henry Berre, and loving family, step-daughter Sandra Lagattuta, step-grandson Joseph (Tanya), step-granddaughters Vanessa (Shawn) and Alisha (Derrick), step-great-grandchildren Jacob and Brandon, Ryan, Katlyn and Adam, and Elizabeth, nephew Pastor David Wallin (Susan), great niece and nephew Katie and Karl. Our special thanks to our pastors and church family for their loving support and prayers. We also express our appreciation for the loving service from our devoted care givers, Merlie, Glenda, Beth and Myra; and wish to thank the sensitive hospice nurses for their care in her final weeks.
