Kunza, James Joseph, Sr. Northeast Mpls, Minnesota. Born October 17, 1928. Died June 12, 2012. James Joseph Kunza, Sr., 83, Northeast Mpls, MN, died on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at the Falrvlew Northland Medical Center, Princeton, MN. James was born on October 17, 1928 in Perham, Minnesota, son of John and Lorraine (Zeller) Kunza. He grew up and was educated there, graduating from Perham High School. He entered the US Air Force and served six months, before being called home due to his father's III health. He was united in marriage with Alvina Schornack on August 30, 1949 at St. Henry's Catholic Church In Perham. They made their home at Perham until early 1952, when the family moved to Minneapolis and settled in "nordeast", where they lived until 1991, when they moved to Shorevlew. James started with Advance United Express as a parts runner in the early 1960's and retired as supervisor of the maintenance mechanics In 1987. His wife, Alvina, died In November of 1992 James enjoyed the Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Browns, Clint Eastwood and John Wayne, also playing cards. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandklds. He is survived by his daughter and two sons: Charlene (Dan) Cattell of Princeton, Jim (Mary) Kunza, Jr. of Ham Lake, and Bernle (Mary) Kunza of NE Minneapolis; sixteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren; four sisters and two brothers: Lavonne (Oscar) Kalinowski of Ottertail, Margaret Boutin of Champlin, Eleanor (Wally) Waldorf of Winona, Germalne (Fred) Huebsch of Perham, John (Donna) Kunza of Andover, and Jerome (Judy) Kunza of Perham. He was preceded in death by his parents: John and Lorraine Kunza; brothers: Bernard (Ben) and Donald; his wife: Alvina; son: Joseph in January of 2009. Memorial service to be held at St Henry's Catholic Church on June 26, 2012 at 11:00am, Perham, MN.

I'm so, so, sorry to see that Jim has passed away. What a great man! I had many a laugh with him and he was always the most kind man. I know that he is happy in the arms of his wife again but that leaves so many of your arms empty here. Please fill them with the many memories you have of your dad, brother, grandpa, great grandpa, great-great grandpa, uncle and friend and forever Jim will live on in your hearts. My deepest sympanty and many prayers to all of you.
