Hello,
We realize that we are very late to express our deepest condolences, but we wanted to let your family and friends know that we will be sending Care Packages to deployed troops this week and several of these will be dedicated to your loved one. Each package will carry the name, photo and hometown of Kyran E. Kennedy US Army Chief Warrant Officer 3.

We realize that this is a small tribute, but we do this with all respect and sincerity and we want you to know that it is made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals from across the American youth hockey community, their families and friends and others who support our mission.

We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you safe and strong.

Sincerely,

I know many years has passed and I continue to extend my sympathy and prayers to the family. Kyran was a great person and I remember him taking the time to talk to me and mentor me when I was a young Sergeant stationed at Camp Stanley, Korea. He taught me how to make ceremics at the craft shop and took the time to talk to me about life and the military at every opportunity. I can remember him in the craft shop with his family at times making ceremics. I'm forever thankful for his mentorship and guidance about life when I was undecided on my military career. Today I serve as a Command Sergeant Major in the U.S. Army with over 24 years of service. I heavnly than Kyran and send my blessing to his family.

CWO3 Kyran Kennedy, I've never known you but I came across your gravestone while visiting the grave of my father-in-law with my wife and family this Easter. I was walking with my 4 year old daughter just yards from my father-in-law's grave when I noticed your marker beneath my feet. There was some grass covering it but I moved it aside and read that you were KIA, a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star recipient in Operation Iraqi Freedom. I told my daughter that a hero rests here. She might be too young to understand now but I promise you that she and her two little brothers will understand someday. After looking you up online I found with no surprise that you cherished life and were much loved.

To the family of Kyran;
I visit my father-in-law often and I promise that I will look after the grave of your Kyran and keep it clean, clear and respectable.

Thank You, Kyran for what you did for our country, for your sacrifice.

This is a gift! We have some wonderful sponsors who help with the costs, and only want you know that we care.

Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.

The Wind on The Downs

“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”

(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )

Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….

“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”

I did not know Kyran, but I am remembering
his service and sacrifice. He is my hero. !

The Other Side

i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.

can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.

i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side

the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

If this person can stand in battle to ensure my freedom, then I will stand in grief with his/her family to honor him/her. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guest book for the rest of my life, but I promised LE RON A. WILSON (a dear friend KIA 7/6/07, 18yrs old) that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Kennedy and family,

Mayumi’s and my thoughts and prayers continue to be with you, Kathleen, Christopher, Caitlyn and Kevin.

Kyran's selflessness and compassion has changed me forever. His nature brings to mind the words of William Wordsworth.

"That best portion of a good man's life,
His little, nameless, unremembered acts of kindness and of love."

Sincerely,

John Saverino

My sincerest condolences to the entire Kennedy family and to Kyran's wife, Kathleen and her three young children. Having lived in West Roxbury for 25 years now and having taught Kara, Patricia and Christopher for 10th grade CCD and having met Kyran's Mom and Dad at various social occasions, I know what a wonderful family the Kenndedys are, with a strong faith and lots of goodness. Because of the bravery of Kyran and the military, all of us can rest peacefully at night, knowing that there are brave men and women in the military who risk their lives to ensure freedom, not just for us in the USA but for people everywhere. They are truly like the Good Samaritan of the Gospel, their neighbors are the people of the world, not just those with whom they live. I am honored to be in the St. Theresa choir which will take part in the Memorial Mass on Saturday.

Our sincerest sympathy to all the Kennedys and their relatives.

Love from, David and Brenda Breen
