Hanson, Raymond John (Condra) age 89, of Minnetonka, passed away December 31, 2012. WWII Navy machinist mate, US Vestal Repair Ship, Pacific; outdoorsman, golfer, inventor and history buff. Preceded in death by wife, Irene and infant daughter. Survived by wife, Elaine; children, Clyde, Allen (Lynn), and Linda (Tim) Niedzielski; and grandchildren, Hannah and Max. Funeral service Monday, Jan. 7, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Ridgewood Church, 4420 County Rd. 101, Minnetonka (952-474-0858). Visitation will take place for one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Interment Ft. Snelling National Cemetery. My dad, Don Edmonson, and Ray grew up together in Anoka County, and dad always considered Ray to be one of his best friends. They played football together as kids and did a lot of things together over the years. I remember going fishing with Ray and actually catching fish! I also remember him sharing stories of deer hunts and other adventures. He always had me on the edge of my seat. One of my fondest memories is the year I took dad and Ray with me on their first, and I believe only, trip to the Boundary Waters. Ray was a great guy and I feel privileged to have known him.
