Quirk, Mary Loretta age 84, died January 2, 2013. She was born on September 28, 1928, in Jessenland, Minnesota; she was the oldest of three girls born to the late Howard H. and Lucy L. Bray. Preceded in death by husband Bill, son Patrick, and sisters, Ann Bourke and Patricia Weber, Loretta is survived by sons, William J. and Michael (Helen); daughters, Mary (Steven) and Anne (Avrom); grandchildren, Jon (Kim), Valerie, Emma, and Elliot, and great-grandchildren, Joshua and Lucy, as well as many nieces and nephews. She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening and keeping up on current events. In 1994, Bill and Loretta moved from Minneapolis to Springfield, Missouri, to welcome their new granddaughter, Valerie, and then returned to reside in Minneapolis three years ago. Loretta was known for her kindness and thoughtfulness towards others. She was always interested in the latest antics and accomplishments of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at The Kenwood. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, January 5, noon, Lakewood Cemetery Chapel (visitation half-hour prior to service); 3600 Hennepin Ave. S., Minneapolis.
