Walter Hall Obituary

HALL
Walter Ray Hall, 77, of San Antonio, passed away on Monday, May 19, 2014. He was born October 22, 1936, in Mississippi to the late Walter Taft and Jessie Geneva Hall. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Patsy J. Hall; one daughter Sherry Spencer and husband Paul; one son Dr. John Hall; 3 grandchildren: Justin, Jordan and Haley Spencer; 5 brothers: John Carl Hall, Joe Hall, Mike Hall, Jerry Hall and Bruce Hall; 4 sisters: Mildred Hays, Geneva Martin, Linda Alford and Susan Holloway; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents and one brother, Bill Hall. He retired after 31 years as a lieutenant with the San Antonio Police Department and served 4 years in the United States Air Force. He loved being outdoors working in the yard or doing different building projects along with feeding all the neighborhood animals. He was also a member of Northwest Hills United Methodist Church & former, longtime member of Browning UMC.
Services
Funeral services will be on Monday, May 26, 2014, at 11:00 AM at Northwest Hills United Methodist Church, 7575 Tezel Road. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral at the church. Interment will follow in Mission Burial Park North.

Patsy, I offer my sincere condolence to you and your family. I knew you and Walt when you were dating, we were on the same team, and worked in the same organization in the Air Force. Walt was a very kind man, always had a friendly smile, and one of the best.

Lt Hall,

Was definitely one of the good guys at SAPD. Great police officer and even better man. He made all of us better officers. There are some people that you would cross the street in rush hour traffic to shake hands with Walter Ray of one of them.
