Jack Coleman Obituary

January 12, 1934 - June 4, 2018
Our beloved Jack Woods Coleman went to his eternal rest on June 4, 2018.

He was born on January 12, 1934 in San Antonio, Texas. He leaves this earth loved and admired by so many.

His father, James Wesley Coleman, his mother Frances Marr Coleman, his brothers Jim Coleman and Josh Coleman and his sister Joy Coleman Wallace preceded him in death. His wife Joyce Henefield Coleman, and daughters Jacqueline Coleman Havelka and Jill Coleman Strauss survive him, as do son-in-law Jim Havelka, granddaughter Kathleen Strauss, and grandsons Zachary and Christopher Havelka and Coleman Strauss. His sisters Fay Coleman DeVilbiss and Lenora Coleman Schoultz and sister-in-law Rose Coleman Stahala and their families also survive him.

He is also survived by his extended family Mia Eldridge and Isabella Eldridge, Rosalee Anderson, husband Jim Anderson and Devon and Lindsey Anderson, Daliya Shawkat Baker and Nick Baker, and Mark and Teri Blaschke.

Jack worked for the USDA Meat Inspection division for 35 years, while at the same time developing Hidden Valley, his beloved property on the Medina River.

The family wishes to express our appreciation to Olivia Saucedo, who was his amazing caregiver for 18 months. We also express thanks to the Visiting Angels Association in Georgetown, Texas, and their wonderful caregivers, with a special thanks to Shelley Weaver.

Jack's final year and a half were spent at Silverado Memory Care in Cedar Park. We are so grateful and appreciative of the care given to him there. They were all so loving, kind and helpful. Encompass Hospice Austin provided excellent end-of-life care and we are grateful for your loving attention.

Jack was a member of the Valley High Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite and Alzafar Shriners.

A celebration of life service and burial will be held on Tuesday June 12 at 11:30 am at the San Jose Burial Park, 8235 Mission Road, San Antonio, Texas 78214.

The Reverend Ann Helmke will officiate. There will also be a short service by the Valley High Masonic Lodge. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to The Battered Women and Children's Shelter, Family Violence Prevention Services, 7911 Broadway, 78209. Their work is close to our hearts.
