My condolences to the family and friends of the late Ken Dunachie.
I just tried phoning him from Australia not realising he had passed. Ken was a close friend of mine who I met while travelling to the UK from 98-2003 on a working holiday visa. He was a fantastic bloke and will sadly miss him. I met him at David Lloyds Renfrew while I was playing Tennis. We had many good laughs and great memories.
RIP Ken..

My most sincere condolences to the family and friends at this difficult time. Ken was an inspirational teacher and, subsequently, a good friend. I will remember him with great fondness and gratitude.

Very sad to hear of the passing of a great teacher and friend - i remember my last week at school and having been in the badminton club leaving with fellow members and going to the Anvil on Smithycroft Rd as a 'rare treat'. Then in pops Ken Dunnachie to join us.

A few years later both he and Miss Semple attended my 21st party which was great- not sure if teachers like him still exist.
A few years later I was actually doing well in a degree I took in via OU and Maths 101 was a neccessary evil lol. Surprisingly I was doing well in this course and got to the point wbere ithers actually contacted me for help (that never happened at school)
There was one final assignment I had to pass in order to maintain an average A throughout.
However I was struggling on the final question.
I was able to make contact with Ken via Mr Steel (PE) and was pleased to hear from me - lets just say his words when asked were 'how could I forget you!!' (I spent several hours standing outside the class for talking) . Ken listened to my question asked what how far i had got and was pleased to see I had got 90% complete - he pointed out a simple error I had made and remained on the phone until I had reworked and solved the problem. The one time I realky did feel like a star in Maths (and I got my 'A') - RIP my friend
