Mrs. Foster, Teri, and Barry,
Please accept my sincere condolences. Few people have made such a lasting impact in my life as Mr. Foster has. He was not just a wonderful band director, he was a wonderful teacher and role model. Most of my high school memories revolve around his bands. He taught us how to make music together, work together, play together, and be good human beings... with fun and humor throughout. He truly cared about us and was like a "school-parent" to us. My respect for him has no bounds. I was blessed to be in many bands and classes under his direction during what had to be difficult post-tornado years. For that, I will always be grateful. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers... and thank you for sharing him with the Xenia community.

He was such a wonderful teacher and an inspiration to so many of us. I would have never played music, if it wasn't for Ray. An incredible teacher and kind man.

I was one of Rays students at Xenia High. We knew each other from the choral side as I was in all the choirs and musicals. Ray approached me in the 12th grade and asked me if I would be interested in playing the base tuba. I agreed, and found out how much fun Ray helped me enjoy by play
In both marching band and concert band. He was a great mentor and friend. Whenever we visited Xenia, Ray would be in church where my wife Pamela’s mom attended. You were an incredible person and you will be so missed.
