Raymond Durivage Obituary

Durivage, Raymond Joseph WATERVLIET Raymond Joseph Durivage, 81 of Watervliet, entered into eternal life on Tuesday, January 5, 2021, at Riverside Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Castleton-on-Hudson. Born in Waterford, on November 8, 1939, he was the son of the late Leon W. and Felicienne (Bechard) Durivage Sr. Ray was a United States Army veteran serving in Germany and France. He was an electrician, employed by I.B.E.W. Local #236 for many years and also worked for himself as an electrician. Ray was an avid collector of cars with a special love of Cadillacs. He was a member of the Cadillac club, he loved going to car shows and showing off his 1964 white Caddy convertible. He later switched to collect Chevrolet Silverado trucks and Impalas. He was an avid NASCAR fan with a special love of Dale Earnhardt Sr. He and his longtime companion and best friend Barbara Joan Stampfli loved vacationing in Ogunquit, Maine, Gettysburg, and enjoyed many trips to beautiful Lake George. In the fall they enjoyed trips to the Schoharie Valley to see the fall colors and have lunch at Apple Berry Cafe where he enjoyed their apple pie. In his younger years Ray enjoyed snowmobiling with his family and friends. He was a communicant of St. Ambrose Church in Latham. Survivors include his longtime companion and best friend Barbara Joan Stampfli. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Edward, Thomas, Stephen, Daniel, Leon III, Catherine Durivage and Joanne Everett; his sisters-in-law, Joanne DeCicco Durivage and Geraldine Lessor Durivage. He was predeceased by his nephew James Durivage. A Mass will be held privately at the convenience of the family in St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, 347 Old Loudon Rd., Latham with Reverend Brian Kelly officiating. I first met Ray when I was a first year apprentice in local union 438 IBEW Ray kept us cracked up on the jobs with his stories and he had 1 million of them. I have many fond memories of my working years with Ray.

It has been decades since the last time we meet. Just recalling many memories of when we were teenagers in North Side Cohoes back in the 50´s. We don´t know what lays ahead when we depart this life. Perhaps we could even meet again in another time and another place. My you Rest In Peace.
