The first time I met Charles was when we went to Half Moon Bay with a group of friends for lunch followed by a hike in 2011. As we walked near a golf course not far from the beach, I asked him how did he meet Larry. He paused for a second and then told me the story from more than 30 years ago as if it just happened recently in a straight forward way, without dramatizing anything, which was typical Charles. And that's why he was such a good friend. Rest in peace, Charles.

An outstanding and thoughtful volunteer of many years on FDR's presidential yacht, The Potomac. His quiet, yet out-going way was a credit to the ship and an important lesson to visitors of superb hospitality. He will be sorely missed.

We are extremely saddened about the loss of Charles. What a very special person he was. He was a co volunteer on the USS Potomac where he was always so dependable and a huge part of the Potomac Family. It is hard to think he will not be with us. We loved him so much. Rest In Peace dear Charles.
