The first time I met Charles was when we went to Half Moon Bay with a group of friends for lunch followed by a hike in 2011. As we walked near a golf course not far from the beach, I asked him how did he meet Larry. He paused for a second and then told me the story from more than 30 years ago as if it just happened recently in a straight forward way, without dramatizing anything, which was typical Charles. And that's why he was such a good friend. Rest in peace, Charles.

I was so sad to hear of Charles’ sudden death. I knew him as a kind, patient, and loving person. He will be missed by those of us who knew and loved him, especially his partner of over 40 years, Larry Miller.

Rest in Heaven, our dear friend Charles Norman
Charles was our dear friend. Our monthly lunch bunch of friends will remember him as a calm anchor for us all. Rest in Heaven, Charles. We continue to be here for you, Charles' lifetime partner Larry P. Miller.

An outstanding and thoughtful volunteer of many years on FDR's presidential yacht, The Potomac. His quiet, yet out-going way was a credit to the ship and an important lesson to visitors of superb hospitality. He will be sorely missed.
