Percy Reed Obituary
Percy Reed, affectionately known as "Perc", age 56 of Stratford, passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2021, in St. Vincent's Hospital. Mr. Reed was born in Bridgeport on October 5, 1965, son of the late Williemae Reed and Charles Ray. He attended Read school where he was on the basketball team. He continued his education at Central high school. He became a cross county track star and never lost a race. He also played on the basketball team at Central. He enjoyed spending time with his family, swimming and watching basketball games. Percy will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Survivors include 2 sons, Percy (Bernice) Reed Jr. of Schenectady, NY, Richard Taylor of Bridgeport, CT; 2 daughters, Williemae Reed, and Jovan Benitez of Bridgeport, CT; 10 grandchildren; 4 brothers, Wilder (Verna) Reed, Willie Reed, Theron Lynch, and Christopher (Keisha) Lynch; 4 sisters, Doraine Reed Lawanda "Tulip" Reed, Valencia (Thomas) Louisy, and Mona Lynch. A Host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, cousins, special friends, and caregivers. The family will receive friends at Lester's Funeral Home 1390 Fairfield Ave, Bridgeport, CT on Friday, December 10, 2021 from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Face masks are required.
