Whether I referred to her as "Katie", or "Rhonda Kay " (if we were in our know it all debates ). She was a special friend in my life for about 50 years. We´ve shared our hardships , happiness, sorrow, moments of rejoicing. She endured so much suffering during most of those 50 years, but always cheered you on in whatever endeavors you may have been involved in during those times. On the same hand, during times of disappointments, struggles, etc in your own life, she would encourage you through yours while experiencing the same or worst in her own life. Couldn´t nobody tell the stories of our escapades like Katie and when it was over, we would burst out laughing as we applied slang to it. These latter years we studied the "an achieving
Christian Maturity"book, she bought us and prayed together on the phone. We only got through Chapter 3 as issues in our lives suspended our regularly scheduled phone calls. I will have to conclude the book on my own now. It was her purpose that we both see clearly of Gods love for us and learn his expectations of us. I regret we did not get through this. I regret that we didn´t work out the arrangements planning since 2019 of us all to take a trip and do something together for 5 days. Our friendship never faltered and over the phone mostly, I made it to Chicago while pregnant with my first child, and several times at home, we maintained our close sisterhood. Simply put, I´m gonna miss her, and that laugh whenever, we mocked a memory. She suffered more than ANYBODY I know but she kept that loving, snippy, personality just the same. Take your Rest, until we meet again, Love you Katie.
