Elizabeth Ultes Hoffman, age 89, of Shelton, entered into rest on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at Bishop Wicke Health Center. She was the devoted wife of the late John N. Hoffman, Jr. Elizabeth was born in Springfield, Ohio on October 22, 1936: daughter of the late Elizabeth (Bruce) and William Ultes. She is survived by her son Daniel K. Chapman III, her daughter-in-law Hitomi Kojima Chapman, and granddaughters Emily Kojima Chapman and Alice Chapman Kojima-Clarke.

Elizabeth was a registered nurse (graduated from Westchester County Medical Center) and received her B.S. in psychology from Mercy College. She was a visiting nurse and later a staff nurse at Burke Rehabilitation Hospital in White Plains, New York.

During her life she loved her volunteer work at Northern Westchester Hospital, Mt. Kisco, New York, and at Bishop Wicke Health Center, Shelton, CT. Also her interests included a love of animals, photography and travel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church of Shelton, CT., 188 Rocky Rest Rd., Shelton, CT 06484.

On Friday, friends are invited to her funeral service at 1:30 PM at the First United Methodist Church, 188 Rocky Rest Rd., Shelton.

The Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton has been entrusted with her arrangements.
