Donna Serviss Obituary
Donna Marie Messina Serviss, 79, of East Haven, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 27, 2021, at Yale New Haven Hospital. She was born in Klamath Falls, OR on October 21, 1942, to the late John P. and Wilma Jean Thompson Messina. Donna enjoyed Gardening, was an avid reader and was especially fond of all the wonderful QVC deals they had each night. A true sports fan, she never missed a New York Yankee, Giant or Lady Husky basketball game and even saw her fair share of PGA and LPGA events. She is survived by two sons, Mark H. Serviss of Denver, CO and Robert C. Serviss of Madison, three daughters, Donna L. (Roger) French of Hamden, Sheryl A. Serviss of Deep River and Christine C. (Anthony) Candelora of East Haven, a brother, John T. Messina of Sag Harbor, NY, two sisters, Jean (Richard) Krenkel of Camp Verde, AZ and Janet Kenyon of Monroe, as well as five grandchildren, Mathew and Anthony Candelora, III, Robert Serviss, Jr., Christine Lyons and Catherine French. She was predeceased by two sons, David H. and Matthew D. Serviss.
Friends and Family can attend a Memorial Service Monday morning at 11 am, at the East Haven Memorial Longobardi – Brennan Funeral Home, 425 Main St., East Haven, 203-467-1708. Interment of Ashes will take place immediately following at East Lawn Cemetery. Friends may call on Sunday from 3:30 to 6:30. At the family's request, please wear your mask while attending the services. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Donna was a good friend to Margie and Diana. She loved reading and shared some of her books with me and discussions on some of those. Besides her interest in watching sports I could always find her and Margie watching jeopardy and wheel of fortune on a week night at 7 pm. This is going to leave a big void with Margie because of the daily morning tea and the tv at night and everything in between. We will never forget her! RIP Donna, Margie and Diana.
