GILCHRIST William Normandale Bill died peacefully, at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, on Friday, December 10, 2021, in the loving company of his wife of 63 years, Betty. Beloved father to Sarah and the late Julie, cherished grandfather to Marcus, Kevin, Maxwell, Alexander and Scott and loved-from-afar great-grandfather to Veronica, Ailie and Wild. The second of three generations of journalists in the family, Bill started his career at the Press and Journal in Aberdeen before moving to Glasgow to join the BBC's television news editorial staff where he remained for 31 years. Bill's heart shone bright with kindness and generosity, and he lived to serve those he loved. A thanksgiving service will be held at St. Paul's Church in Milngavie, on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at 11.30 am. All are welcome.
