My sincere condolences Jacobs family. I was a football teammate and blocked for Doug at Wittenberg. Doug was an accomplished and determined athlete and a great humbled guy. Doug was one of the reasons we were undefeated and won the 1973 NCAA DIII National Championship. Doug and I reconnected about the time he his leukemia reappeared and was going to have a bone marrow transplant. Our son had to have one, as well, to fight leukemia. So I was unfortunately educated on the procedure, processes and journey. We had some conversations and then Bob Miller, Steve Drongowski and I surprised Doug at the The James Cancer Center on his first day of his preparation. We all prayed for the best outcome. I was so happy for Doug as things were looking up when he retired to Savanah. I was taken by surprise on his passing. However, I know Doug has met our son Blake #41 and they are running sprints on Heaven“s gold turf. RIP #31. #64

My sympathies for the loss of a wonderful man. Doug was so admired at CCHS. He was value driven, kind, smart, a talented athlete, and very funny. I am so sorry that Doug faced such a long battle with cancer. I can well imagine your hearts must be broken. Please know that he was well loved by so many in the CCHS Class of 1970.

Doug Jacobs I remember when you won the Punt, Pass & Kick contest back in the day and wore that great football jacket to school.
Hope to see you again in Heaven someday.
