Age 93, of Vandalia, passed away May 6, 2022. A memorial service will be held on May 12, 2022, at 1:00 pm at Englewood Church of Christ. Arrangements by Newcomer North Chapel.

Dearest friend Mary Lena Hendricks, today marks three years since your triumphant return to Heaven! While you are always missed, I enjoy thinking about you and the more than eighty years you graced this earth before we met in 2011. What a long life you lived! Thank you for so many things and for giving me a place to cool off when my relative's room was furnacelike and my sweet cattle dog boy (Good Boy, Sweet Prince, and Lil Prince) was also too hot. You even saw to it that there was cool bottled water in your fridge, bless your heart! I love you always, dear one!

Another year has passed and now it's been two years since you returned to Heaven, Mary Lena Hendricks, dear, dear friend. Seldom does a day pass that I don't think fondly of you and recall with joy in my heart, all the great times we had! God sure blessed us with an amazingly close friendship!

Such a dear, sweet friend she was to me for the past eleven years! We had many wonderful times, from dining out at local favorite restaurants, including Bob Evans, Cracker Barrel, Olive Garden, Frisch's, Longhorn Steakhouse, and Outback Steakhouse - to a memorable walk at a local park located along the Great Miami River. We played the Parker Brothers (now Hasbro) board game Taboo (1989), which is a real brain challenger that I'd never heard of, and we so enjoyed it!
