Robert Artzberger Obituary
December 24, 1936 - June 8, 2022
Robert "Bob" Paul Artzberger, 85 of Houston passed away June 8, 2022. Robert was born December 24, 1936, in Aspinwall, Pennsylvania to Louis and Margaret Artzberger. He is preceded in death by his parents and his three brothers Louis, Alfred, and James. He is survived by Kay, the loving mother of his children William (Bill) & Richard, and his grandchildren Aubrey, Garin, Charlotte, & Margaret.
Bob grew up in Aspinwall, PA and graduated from Aspinwall High School in 1955. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1959 with a degree in Petroleum Engineering. Bob was extremely active in the oil industry and continued to maintain his license with the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
Bob enjoyed talking about politics, the oil industry, history, and Oklahoma Sooners football. He was a member of the Houston Exchange Club & the Petroleum Club of Houston for many years where he was able to form a number of lasting friendships. His happiest moments were when he was spending time with his beloved family, and his house was a treasure trove of family photos and memorabilia.
Services will be held Friday June 17, 2022, with visitation beginning at 6:00 PM and vigil service at 7:00 PM at Dettling Funeral Home, 14094 Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77079. Bob will be laid to rest at Memorial Oaks at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a charitable donation in Bob's honor to the Alzheimer's Association.
