Although it´s been many years since we had seen each other, I was sorry to learn of Bill´s passing, and I send my Deepest Sympathy to the Hoke Family, Evelyn, and Friends.
I have vague memories of Bill and me playing in my driveway when Magnolia Drive was still a dead-end street and the Hoke Family lived at the end of it. I have memories of Bill playing (I think a baritone horn) in the marching band. And, to me Bill seemed fascinated with electronic type `gadgets´. He would tell me about his crystal radio(s) that he built. We corresponded several times when he joined the service. However, we lost track over time.
I remember most, as others have written, his gentle nature, his dark wavy hair, his smile, and his wonderful laugh. Rest in Peace, Bill.

Sympathies to Evelyn and the rest of the family. I had not seen Bill for 50 years until our 50th high school reunion back in 2015. He was exactly as I remembered even with the few added pounds and grey hair and beard. I first met Bill in 4th grade having recently moved to area. Even though our houses were some 5 miles apart it did not stop us from riding our bikes those 5 miles on the back roads with very little shoulders to conduct experiments in trying to launch self made rockets into the sky. We never did get the rockets to any significant height and most exploded on the launch pad, but it was fun never the less. God's speed to you Bill in your next adventure.
