It was one of my great pleasures at Candler to be Bob's partner in Clinical Pastoral Education, and to share his love of music. His dear wife, Janet, was my wonderful faculty secretary for a number of years. I learned much from him about good pastoral care.

I simpl y want to express my appreciation for the contributions Bob made to the life and work of Candler School of Theology where I knew him best. He was a valued colleague. May his family experience the same depth of love in these days of mourning he was so willing to share with so many through the years.

I am honored to have known Bob since 1986. He was the most generous, caring & loving man. He was truly a god fearing leader in his family & community. He will be missed. My prayers go out to Janet, Bert, Susan, Mike, Bill & his very big extended family.

My deepest condolences to the family. Dr. Bob was my cpe supervisor and so much of what he shared (mostly of himself) shaped my ministry. A brilliant man with heart for ministry. May you soar in your next adventure. Much love Dr. Bob!

Uncle Bob was a Godly man. He was a leader and inspiration to our larger family. Generous, gracious, hospitable and noble were on display by the example of Uncle Bob. We love him, honor his legacy and pray for peace and comfort for Aunt Janet and cousins Susan, Bert, Mike and Bill and their families.

Dear entire Gary Family,
May you all feel the Lord's peace and comfort at this time. Bob radiated Christ's love and kindness, an inspiration to many, including me!
The Psalmist extols "the man whose quiver is full" (Psalm 127) and that surely was Bob, blessed with both a loving consort, Janet, and loving children.
Few seem to get it all in life, but in many ways Bob did. Let us rejoice and be glad, thanking God for such generosity lavished in such an outpouring of goodness and richness.
Love from Timothy
