Ginger Ray left this world on March 23, 2026 at the age of 82. She was born on January 24, 1944, to Rhea Crawford Lewis and Birdie Johnnie (Lee) Lewis in her beloved hometown of McKinney, Texas.

Ginger married the love of her life, James Benny Ray, on June 22, 1963. Together, they created a warm and loving home full of laughter, kindness, and love. As a dedicated homemaker, she poured her heart into caring for her family, always ensuring that everyone felt cherished and valued. She was a woman of Episcopal faith which guided her through the paths of life.

Ginger was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be missed dearly by those who knew and loved her.

Ginger is survived by her beloved husband, Benny Ray of McKinney, Texas; son, Greg Ray and wife, Angela of Blue Ridge, Texas; daughter, Wendy Duerr and husband, Greg of Lucas, Texas; three grandchildren, Winston Ray of Dallas, Texas, Simon Ray of Seattle, Washington and Ashleigh Duerr of Fort Worth, Texas; brother, Tom Lewis of Plano, Texas; nephews, Rhea Lewis and wife, Sarah of Wylie, Texas and Tommy Lewis and wife, Jackie of Carrollton, Texas; great-niece, Mackenzie; nephews, Tony Hanson and wife, Vanessa of Idaho, Denny Hanson and wife, Cathy of Wylie, Texas, and Brian Wimberly and wife, Shannon of Atlanta, Georgia; and a host of other loving family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Leah Rhea Wimberly.

A remembrance gathering will be held on Saturday afternoon, April 11, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
