Ron Hampton was one of those people that you come across in life who always had a smile on his face and was genuinely happy to see you...a very uplifting individual. I first met Ron when we became 'country' neighbors, living down the road from each other. We had purchased land to build on and Ron stopped by one day to say "Hello." After that short introduction, we became fast friends and as I worked out on the farm these past years he would drive by on his way into work and honk and wave. Often he'd stop and we'd chat over the beds of our pick-up trucks, laughing and sharing jokes. He was a warm man who always made me feel good about our moving to the area. I will miss him terribly, and hope that his family knows how much Ron was a part of so many peoples lives and touched them in a special way. Right now...he probably has St. Peter rolling with laughter up there at the 'pearly gates'! You'll never be forgotten Ron, never.

This is one of the saddest evenings of my life. I just found out that Ron passed away and, I'm filled with grief. He was a co-worker of 20yrs at Antioch College, he worked on several houses I lived in and, my family lived in. He was one of the finest workers, in his trade skill and, "always went that extra mile." He was kind, had a great sense of humor, was generous and, helpful. I don't want to believe he is gone. I was in Yellow Springs about a week ago, heard a horn "honk" and, looked-up to see Ron, smile and, wave. I'm thankful that I did. It means more than words can say. Rest in Heaven dear friend...My prayers go out to Suzette, all of Ron's family and, friends.

This is just the saddest news I could have received today. I knew Ronnie from all the wonderful work he did for the Greene County Public Libraries. Always a smile and so many Thank you's. I later realized he was a friend and co-worker of my son Matthew. Many years of fond memories made with a wonderful man. My prayers to his family during this very sad time. Such a great loss to everyone who knew him.
