Adam NAGLE Obituary

NAGLE, Adam J.

4/5/1982 - 10/23/2022

The community lost a source of light on Sunday, October 23, 2022, when Adam J. Nagle passed away at home. A master educator, Adam taught humanities to his beloved seventh and eighth graders at Challenge Magnet School where he served as the middle school social studies coordinator. He inspired students to think creatively, grow as collaborators, challenge their own thinking, participate in respectful, high-level discourse, and share their voices. His classroom was a safe space for students to take risks and explore new perspectives. He was warm, approachable, and supportive of all students. He was loved and respected by colleagues, students, and families. Adam was born on April 5, 1982, in Cincinnati, Ohio, and graduated from Sacred Heart Elementary School, Stephen T. Badin High School ('00) and Ohio University ('04) where he served as president of his fraternity, Sigma Chi. After earning a master's in political science at OU, he went on to earn a second master's degree in international security at the Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver. Always a lover of words and writing, Adam found his home in the classroom amid his beloved students. He was an avid skier, inquisitive traveler, Francophile, guide, and sharp witted observer of life. He is survived by his parents, Joe and Maude Nagle of Hamilton, Ohio, sisters Anne Leonard of Marietta, Georgia, Hilary Murdock (Mitch) of Oak Park, IL, as well as nieces and nephews, Jack and Autumn Leonard and Mae and Miles Murdock, and a host of extended family. His crew of beloved and loyal Denver friends is a tribute to Adam's prized wit, empathetic nature, and love of good times. A celebration of Adam's life will take place on Saturday, November 12, 2022, from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at Varone Market Venue, 1800 West 33 Avenue, 80211. Adam is being remembered by contributions to the Cherry Creek Schools Foundation: htpps://secure.qgiv.com/for/ccsf. By selecting "other" and including Adam Nagle in "dedicate this gift" comments, you can be assured the funds will be designated to the school programs most beloved by Adam. If you are wondering what else you can do in Adam's memory, please make a plan to vote on November 8. Adam would love that.

Mr. Nagle was truly one of the best teachers I've ever had. He was kind, creative with his projects, and just a fun person to be around. He was always caring and attentive to every one of his students, and he went through so much effort to ensure that his classroom was a wonderful space to be in. Even during online learning, he managed to lift people's spirits and kept going through these hard times. I miss him so much and wish I could thank him for how amazing he always was. May he rest in peace.

For the two years I had known Mr. Nagle, he has helped me a lot through my academic career. Everything I know today in English and Social Studies is because of him, and now as a freshman in high school, his guidance has made it so much easier for me. Over the summer, our family moved to Marietta, Georgia, where Mr. Nagle's sister lives. He was really excited about our move and always provided us his support. Even though I am still adjusting, he reassured us that we would love Georgia and it would be a great place to live. I hope to get in touch with his sister here. May his soul rest in peace.

Mr. Nagle was truly one of best teachers I've ever had. There was always a smile followed by a "Good morning!" every single day I walked in. During the 2 years I'd known him, he always managed to make my day better. He made Connections so fun in ways most other teachers weren't able to. He made an extra effort to make sure his classroom was a safe space for anyone, and everyone to be in. He would personally take people aside to make sure they were ok, and offer help to the best of his abilities. With this, he created one of my best teacher experiences. I will forever miss the kindness he showed. May he Rest In Peace.

Adam was one of the brightest, most passionate, most caring teachers I've ever had the privilege of having my child learn from. He inspired my son to read history, think about civilizations, and integrate ideas from school into personal values in a way I've never seen before. His joy at discussing the school year during parent conferences was infectious. His choosing teaching was truly a gift to kids and their families. We lost one of the best people I've ever personally known. RIP Adam, we miss you deeply.

Over the course of the year I had him he managed to make me smile every day (Ancient Mesopotamia song). he would always make comments on our writing and draw a smiley face. May he rest in peace.

Mr. Nagle was an extraordinary teacher. He left so many memories that I´ll never forget, and his unique teaching style left an imprint that I don´t think any other teachers can fill. From Harkness Discussions and Friday Free Writes to goofy history songs and Starter Statements, he always knew how to brighten up our days. For this I thank him with all of my heart. May he Rest In Peace.
