Dale Mullens Obituary
Dale graduated from Wheelersburg High School and went on to earn his Bachelor's Degree from Ohio University and his Master's Degree from Kent State University. He dedicated much of his life to helping others through his work in rehabilitation services.
Dale was employed by the State of Ohio Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation, where he served as a counselor and case manager assisting individuals with physical and mental disabilities. He later worked as a Rehabilitation Supervisor for Services for the Visually Impaired. After retiring from the State of Ohio, Dale continued his service to the community as a Client Specialist with the Rehabilitation Department at Southern Ohio Medical Center. Throughout his career he also worked with Developmentally Disabled in Scioto County and the Rehabilitation Department for the Juvenile Corrections Department in Franklin Furnace.
He was a proud member of Western Sun Masonic Lodge in Wheelersburg, the American Legion, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Dale is survived by his loving wife, Marty Mullens; his daughters, Dana (Shane) Compton and Crystal Mullens (James Hall); two grandsons, Brandon (Brittany) Williams and Trever (Amanda) Jacks; and one granddaughter, Kenzie (Adam) McNeely. He was also blessed with eight great-grandchildren: William, Gracie, Gavi, Teagan, Anna, Ethan, Izzy, and Riddoc.
In addition to his parents, Dale was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Amber Williams, and his brother, Dan Leadingham.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of SOMC Hospice for their loving care and compassion.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 13, 2026, 6:00- 8:00PM at D.W. Swick & Son Funeral and Cremation Services in Sciotoville. Private Graveside Services at a later date.

Marty, so sorry to read about Dale's passing. I only found this today (Thursday). I was shipped to Columbus last Thursday and am now home and getting grounded.
I have a lot of good memories of you and Dale with Moon and me. Dale was always willing to help Moon figure things out. Dale was also one of Moon's best friend right to the end, and I appreciated you and Dale. I am so sorry for your loss, but thankful you have your beautiful Dana, Crystal and families

I worked with Dale at both SOMC and with the Dpt. Of Youth services for the state of Ohio. He was a good friend and will be missed. Prayers of comfort the family
