I have such great memories of Uncle Joe. When I was a kid we would visit. My mom would get to see her sister. I still haven't had a tomato or onion that tastes as good as the one's from their garden. I would play in all his old cars. He would take us for rides in his old Model T, 35 Ford. I can still remember the smell of the barn where all the cars were. When he would visit or we would head to Byrdstown everyone would gather at the house and they would be playing music. Uncle Joe would try to teach me cords on his brown wood electric guitar. Aunt Helen singing, Uncle Tom on Banjo. Playing by the pond, the pony. The smell of sulfur in the tap water. My cousins throwing pillows. The pocket doors, which for some reason amazed me. And croquet and lightening bugs in the yard. My cousins taking me on a cruise in his car. Last time I got to talk to him I sent him some pictures of our old family T-bird I had restored. I knew he could appreciate that. Thank you for the great childhood memories.

Uncle Joe was a fine man. I will always cherish the memories of him playing music at grandpa's.

I am truly sorry for your loss. I was blessed to get to know Joe (and Voss) as neighbors and then friends. They were the most genuine, accepting, and caring people I have ever known. May your many memories and God's love comfort you at this difficult time.
