I'm almost at a loss for words... Darrell was like an Uncle to me and a very dear friend of the Campbell family. He and my father, David, were best friends for at least 60 years. He was one of the kindest human beings I've ever known. He will be missed. I hope to give you a hug in Heaven one day. My condolences to his family. What a great loss...

Darrell Sr. I first met you and your son Darrell Jr. at Holbrook's Suncoco when you both worked together on Stanley Ave. Holbrook died of Cancer and the gas station is gone replaced by Oberer's Florist. You and your son Jr. worked at Weber's Automotive on Linden Ave together. You had several shops on your own and even worked on my car in your shop and at home. You were always kind and very generous with your pricing and work. You treated everyone with respect. You very knowledgeable when it came to working on cars. You were appreciated. Sometimes you could be funny with your sense of humor. Your kind demeanor and friendship will be missed.

Darrell, you were such a sweet and kind soul. Never met anyone like you in my life. I met you when you worked at the carriage house, back in the 90s. When you first met and Lynn. You used to laugh and play with Shannon and I. Sometimes we tested your patience like littles will do, but you still smiled and treated us well. I don´t think in the whole time I´ve know you all, did I ever hear one bad thing about you. You were a great person. And it´s sad to know your light is gone from this world. Lots a of people loved you and will miss you dearly. Lynn, Shannon, I love you guys.

I've known Darrell since he first came to Dayton and worked at the service station by my grandparents house, he was 18, I was 9. He has been a steadfast friend and tremendously helpful "Jack of All Trades" to the entire Campbell family. If someone didn't know how to fix ANYTHING, call Darrell. There was little he couldn't figure out. However that's not the most important thing about him. He was the kindest person I've ever known. There is a huge hole left by his passing that can never be filled in anyone who knew him. He was truly a special person, one of a kind.
