I was saddened to learn of Fr. Lavorgna's sudden and untimely death. We were blessed to have him as our pastor at Mary Mother of the Church for several years. He brought a faithful reverence to our Masses, but also injected it with his self-deprecating humor and shared personal stories of his family in his homilies. He was a down to earth priest who always seemed to go that extra mile, whether offering opportunities for growth in our faith through healing Masses or religious educational serious. He took the time to know his parishioners and offer support when they needed it. I hope his family can find some consolation in the many lives he managed to touch during his short time with us on earth. May he rest in peace-"all the way to God's embrace". Sincerely, Mary O'Hara

Fr. Lavorgna, we missed you when you left Pompeii, always loved seeing you since, but never in a million years did we ever imagine we'd lose you so soon. We have many happy, cherished memories through the years, and I am proud and blessed to have known you. For sure other pastors have big shoes to fill. Rest in peace, Fr. John.

Father was a great friend, a wonderful priest and a beautiful person. He always had time for all his past and present parishioners. I will miss his humor and his friendship, but I will always remember the depth of his character and his dedication to God and God´s people. May your reward be great in heaven

I only seen Father at two of the Sunday Masses that he served at St Bridget Church. I really enjoyed his Masses and homily. He was a good Priest. I pray for his peace in heaven and peace will be with his family and friends on Earth.

I worked with Fr. John at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Waterbury, where I helped out on weekends. He was a very warm, kind, and compassionate priest and friend. I always enjoyed going out to dinner with him, as you could always count on a good laugh.
May the God he served so well reward him with everlasting life and glory. He will be greatly missed.
