Esther Pyles Obituary

Waddle Pyles (Shaw), Esther Marie

Esther Marie (Shaw) Waddle Pyles 97 of Springfield, went to live with our Lord on March 9, 2023. She was born November 24, 1925, in Clark County, Ohio, the daughter of Harvey and Martha (Ryman) Shaw. Esther was a cheerleader at Enon High School before graduating in 1943. She married Glenn E. Waddle on February 8, 1947, and spent their life raising their family and being a dedicated farm wife until his passing on September 16, 1985. She later married Floyd Carl Pyles and continued enjoying family, friends and entertaining. Esther belonged to many clubs and organizations such as Hustead Mother's Club, Green Special Homemaker's Club for 60 years, Airway Farm Bureau Council, and Clark County Porkettes, Esther also worked the voting precinct for many years. Esther belonged to Emery Chapel United Methodist Church. Esther enjoyed working at the Clark County Fair in the Baked Goods Department where she entered many baked items and was proud of her awards. She was known for making pies for everyone including entering the Pie Contest at the Fair. She loved playing cards and dominoes, crocheting blankets for her grand and great grandchildren, and entertaining friends and family. What she took the most pride in was her family. Esther leaves behind to cherish her memory two sons, six grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren. Son, Steven (Nancy) Waddle and their children Brian (Melanie) Waddle, Sarah, Emily, Katie, and Ellie: Deborah (Sean) Corbitt, Kylie, Ryan, Josie, and Haylie: Jennifer (Jason) Harral, Mitchell, Brayden, Addison, and Clayton; Mark (Jessica) Waddle, Madelyn, Lillian, and Mason. Son, Thomas (Rita) and their children Tricia Yoder, Austin, Riley, and Reagan; Jaye Lin (Brian) Call Chase and Cooper. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Harold (Wilma) Shaw, Leroy (Audrey) Shaw, Elwood (Pauline) Shaw, Roger Shaw, Richard Shaw, and one sister Charlotte Shaw. Visitation will be on Sunday March 12, from 5 pm to 7 pm at Littleton & Rue Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Monday March13, at 10 am at the funeral home with Chaplin Christopher Young officiating. A burial will follow at Clifton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Emery Chapel United Methodist Church. The family would like to thank the staff at Hearth & Home, Harding Rd. and Day City Hospice for their wonderful care. Online expressions of sympathy may be made at www.littletonandrue.com.
