Delmar R. “Ole Dog” Pyles,86, of New Castle passed away at his residence surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, March 1, 2026. He was born February 14, 1940 in Monticello, Kentucky to Johnnie E. and Pernie (Davis) Pyles.
Delmar retired from DANA Corporation in 1988 after 18 years of service. He previously worked as a welder at the Bridge Factory in New Castle. Delmar enjoyed running dogs, playing cards and playing pool in his younger years. Most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Those left to cherish Delmar’s memory are his companion of 35 years, Linda J. Crull; son, Greg (Joyce) Pyles; 3 daughters, Penny, Cindy and Tracy; stepchildren, David (Joy) Shelton, Kim (Ben) Parsons and Shiloh (Kathy) Shelton; 15 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren; brother, Kay (Gladys) Pyle and several nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Delmar was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Johnny and Jay Pyles.
A Celebration of Life will be held for the immediate family at a later date. There will be no public visitation. Memorial contributions can be made to the Kidney Foundation, 911 E. 86th Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46240-1848 or The American Heart Association, P.O. Box 840692, Dallas, Texas 75284-0692. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. You may express condolences or share a memory of Delmar at www.hinsey-brown.com.
