I've known John since I was 5 years old, he was a WONDERFUL stepfather. I admired his love for my mom, Connie so much and he was truly the dad I never had. He treated me as if I were his own daughter and that meant more to me than life itself. He had no problem expressing how much he cared. One time, he learned my fence was broken at my home in Atlanta, Georgia, I was having a hard time with it and he and my mom came down the next day (driving 8 hours) just to help me fix it. It may have not seem like much to someone else, but it meant the world to me, that he would help me in a time of distress and I NEVER even asked for his help, he just saw a need and came to fix it like superman. He was the example of how a dad should treat his daughter. I miss him so much, his thoughtfulness, kindness and words of faith will be treasured in my heart. I will honor him forever. Love you, Dad.

John lived with our family during a spell in my high school years. He and Connie were dating back the in the early 80´s. So married seven yrs but he spent a lifetime loving her. Cousin John was always know as Big John and it´s was more his heart and compassion that were Big!! Although he wasn´t small in size till the last few yrs when life dealt him some hard health issues. We surround you all with love hugs and prayers.
Our situation has made it impossible for mom sis and I to attend but know we are there in spirit!

I wanted to say how very sorry I was to hear of Johns passing. I can say that I never saw him (in high school) were he didnt have that wonderful smile shining out to all of us. I am so glad that I was able to see him at our last reunion. I know he will be missed by many.
